Sheldon Ivester first connected with Rooted in 2023 after learning about the Family Preservation Program, he then joined the Board of Directors in 2024, and now serves as Rooted’s Treasurer. As an entrepreneur, Sheldon was immediately drawn to Rooted’s approach of empowering families to build their own small businesses and shape their own success.

His first trip with Rooted took him to Victoria, Yoro, Honduras, where he spent time meeting with the families of the preservation program, filming interviews, and capturing the stories behind the work. That experience deepened his commitment to Rooted’s mission and the people it serves.

Sheldon studied accounting and finance at Biola University and Cypress College before launching a creative design firm in Murrieta, California. With more than 30 years of experience in photography—both in the studio and on location—he brings a unique blend of financial insight and creative perspective to the board.

Sheldon has been married to his wife, Amy, for 28 years, and they have two adult children. When he’s not working, you’ll likely find him traveling, watching or playing hockey, or riding his Harley with Amy—usually in search of a good breakfast spot.
